Daypane is currently in development and has no public production accounts. Test participants can request deletion at any time. The production app will also provide an in-app deletion flow before public release.
Request deletion during testing
- Email privacy@daypane.com from the Google account used to connect Daypane.
- Use the subject “Delete my Daypane account.” Do not send a password, Google token, purchase token, calendar event, identity document, or payment information.
- We will send a confirmation step to verify control of the account. After confirmation, the deletion job will begin and we will report completion by email.
Production in-app method
Before launch, Daypane will offer Settings → Account → Delete Daypane account. The flow will explain the result, require confirmation, immediately revoke the linked TV, and submit the same backend deletion job without requiring a support email.
Data deleted
- The encrypted Google refresh token and prior token ciphertext awaiting rotation cleanup
- The normal pseudonymous account identifier
- Linked-device identifiers and public keys
- Selected calendar identifiers, labels, colors, and visibility choices
- Developer-held purchase evidence and entitlement records
- Weather and display settings stored by the service
Daypane will attempt to revoke Google authorization as part of deletion. You can also revoke it directly from your Google Account's third-party connections page.
Data retained
A non-reversible, separately keyed marker recording that the Google account previously used a Daypane trial is retained for as long as Daypane offers a one-time trial. It cannot be used to reconstruct the Google account identifier and is used only to prevent repeat trials. Limited non-sensitive deletion-job state may be retained temporarily to retry remote revocation. Security logs and encrypted backups age out within their documented retention periods, no longer than 30 days.
Data on the TV and at Google Play
Use Reset this TV, clear Daypane's app data, or uninstall Daypane to remove the TV's local event and weather cache. Deleting a Daypane account does not delete your Google account, Google calendars, Google Play transaction record, or data that Google is independently required to retain. A qualifying purchase can be restored later through Google Play after a new Daypane sign-in.
